Bill Dunn 400m Handicap 1997
The Bill Dunn handicap was held on March 20th on the newly opened track. There was a good field in the men's event.
There were two heats in the the Bill Dunn memorial 400m handicap with the top 8 runners going through to the final. The final turned out to be a battle between the frontmarkers. In a tight finish Shaun King held off fellow frontmarker Marcus Yong and Matt Charlesworth to win in a time of 56.55 seconds. Backmarker David Sutton stormed home for 4th with the fastest actual time of 53.22 seconds. Club president and veteran middle distance performer Chris French continued his vintage season in finishing 5th in an actual time of 56.73. It was good to see that once again the race brought some p.b's and saw runners rise to the challenge.
