The 2006 Bill Dunn 400m handicap race was held on Tuesday 14th Feburary at the
Domain Athletic Centre. The event was conducted as a straight final, with 11
starters in the men's race. The Bill Dunn Memorial resulted in a clean sweep
for the Tilyard family, with Ben comfortably defeating his father Craig. With
a large chasing pack of athletes keen for their taste of success in the prestigious
event, both runners recorded personal best times. Ben swept past his father
coming into the straight and with no-one between him and the finish line, was
able to savour the moment as he cruised to victory. Daniel Carter produced a
gutsy performance to grab third, whilst backmarker Sam Crosswell ran fourth
in a slashing time of 48.99.
